CJDS is ready to enter a new chapter in our history...Hineni
Chicago Jewish Day School (CJDS), with a growing enrollment of more than 200 students in junior kindergarten through grade eight, moved to its permanent home at our beautiful new campus. Nestled in a tree-lined urban neighborhood in a growing family-friendly community, the new campus has easy access to both downtown and suburban living.
This is our vision of the new Chicago Jewish Day School Campus...Hineni
Join us in our vision as we complete our 2.6-acre campus, including multiple state-of-the-art buildings, an on-site gymnasium, sports field, playgrounds, and outdoor basketball court.
CJDS is located in vintage buildings renovated to include flexible classroom spaces and progressive science and innovation labs, where digital and experiential learning live in harmony while Judaism is explored, integrated, and celebrated in all areas of our school.
Phase I included the renovation of our California building and pavilion and partial renovation of a couple of classrooms and gym in our Mozart building. Phase II still needs to be completed which will include the entire Mozart building with our middle school classrooms, cafeteria, Innovation Center and more. Phase II also includes the bridge connecting our buildings together ensuring the safety of our students walking back and forth to their daily schedules.
We are grateful to the Jewish United Fund and the greater Chicago Jewish community who have brought us to this day...Hineni.
CJDS is proud to partner with the Jewish United Fund and the school’s supporters to raise $30 million in order to complete the purchase and construction of our new home. All gifts to this project will also be recognized as commitments to the Jewish Federation’s Centennial Campaign.
The Crown Goodman Family will provide up to $10 million to support the establishment of the CJDS campus in the form of two gifts.
The initial gift, a $5 million leadership gift, illustrates their commitment to CJDS’s future. Additionally, they are providing up to $5 million in the form of a matching grant to inspire the broader community to join the building of CJDS’s future. If you are interested in learning more about the match or contributing to the capital campaign, please contact Naomi Shapiro, Director of Institutional Advancement, at 773-271-2700.
Please show your commitment by contributing and making an INvestment in our collective future. Please join us as we build together!
