Parent Committee

PC activities include on-going signs of appreciation to our faculty and staff from “just because” coffees, to Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week, to bi-yearly gifts and beyond! Our Parent Committee welcomes new families at the beginning and throughout the entire year through our buddies program (pairing veteran families with incoming/new families to answer any questions and attend CJDS events together).

Todah rabah to our Parent Committee for all of the planning leading up to this year's Hanukkah party! 

Parent Committee organizes opportunities for CJDS families to do social action activities together, including singing for residents at the Selfhelp Home during Hanukkah and holding food and clothing drives for organizations such as The Ark and Cradles to Crayons.

The Chesed Committee at CJDS has been the backbone to our school and its values since its inception. Chesed, in Hebrew, is often translated as “loving kindness." The Chesed committee was set up to support the entire school community in the best of times (i.e. new babies, new homes, new accomplishments), and in the difficult times (i.e. sickness, death of family member). CJDS is a community-based school and taking care of each other is an important value that is essential.
 

Parent Committee coordinates various fundraising activities to support the school, such as the Rosh Hashanah honey fundraiser, weekly and holiday challah sales, and Mishloach Manot (Purim baskets).
