Last week, Grades 7 and 8 students spent part of a beautiful afternoon visiting the Chicago Sukkah Design Festival in the North Lawndale neighborhood. The festival celebrates joy and community, as well as amazing ingenuity. On display is a variety of unique sukkot constructed by innovative architectural designers. One Grade 8 student remarked “It’s so cool! I never would have thought that a sukkah could have been made out of so many different materials.” Afterward, each sukkah will have a second life in a permanent spot in the city.
