In response to the wildfires in California, Grade 4 students expressed empathy and concern for all that were affected by the fires. Their teachers embraced students' interests and concerns and guided them through the process of organizing their ideas, identifying needs, and researching potential organizations needing help. When the interest in supporting injured animals arose, students studied the mitzvah and the value of tz’ar ba’alei chayim—compassion for living creatures and decided to hold a fundraiser supporting the Pasadena Humane Society. Their dedication was truly inspiring, and the community came together to support this meaningful cause, raising over $1,000!
