Grades 1 and 2 students were treated to a special experience on Wednesday when they took a field trip to Strawdog Theatre to see a fantastic performance of Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins. The production was a partnership between Strawdog and Chicago Loop Synagogue and is a musical adaptation of Eric Kimmel's Caldecott Honor-winning book. The fun didn't end on Wednesday, though. The next day, members of the theatre company came to CJDS to hold theater workshops. Students were able to use their own creativity to connect to the story of the play and the themes of hope and story.
