Each year, our Educational Leadership Team, including Judy Finkelstein-Taff, Jill Kushnir LeVee, Penina Berdugo, Tamar Cytryn, and Rachel Pickus, along with Director of Campus Life, Hagit Lewis, thoughtfully considers a school theme. The objective is to choose one that resonates with students of all ages and is relevant to Jewish life and the larger world outside our walls. This year's theme, "Peace Will Come Upon Us," comes from a popular Israeli song written in the late 1990s. The musical Midrash explains that, unlike other mitzvot that may come to you, shalom requires effort, persistence, and action. The theme reminds us that shalom begins here, in our hearts, in our school, and in our friendships.

We will encourage students to pursue shalom in small ways:

  • Using kind and respectful words
  • Listening with patience
  • Including those who may feel left out
  • Showing respect even if we disagree

בקשו שלום ורדפהו - Seek peace and pursue it.
Peace does not simply arrive on its own; we must go after it. Our school will be filled with Tefilah (prayer), Tikvah (hope), Ahavah (love), Emunah (faith), and Achdut (unity). Our shared prayer and hope is simple, yet powerful, as we work to bring peace upon ourselves, Israel, our communities, and the world.
