This year's Grade 8 gift was received with great enthusiasm among our student body. A freshly painted and stunning Gaga pit now adorns Shelby's Field of Dreams! Each year, Grade 8 families give a gift to the school on behalf of the class. This year, Grade 8 students met with Artist-in-Residence Rivka Grossman and brainstormed ideas, themes, and memories from impactful experiences they shared at CJDS. The artist helped to translate their ideas to a painted mural on each panel of a Jewish holiday, a memorable unit from a grade, and other symbols and text that depict a clear theme. If you look closely, you can spot on each panel a ladder, which represents our school song "Ya'aleh v'Yavo" - Rise Up and Aim Higher. Many, many thanks to the Grade 8 families for bestowing on our school a gift that will be admired and joyfully used for years and years to come!
