Faculty and Staff Professional Development Near, Far and Abroad!

We are very proud that our CJDS faculty and staff and administration take professional development opportunities whenever they are presented. Taking time from their families and their summer break, our professionals are again have demonstrated their commitment to academic excellence.

  • Constructing Modern Knowledge Conference at MIT in Boston (Deborah Barack, Grade 4; Kate Burstein, Middle School Math, Moriah Bradley, Junior Kindergarten and Rachel Treister, Art Director)
  • Day School Educators Institute at the Hadar Institute in New York (Tamar Cytryn, Director of Jewish Studies and Campus Life and Henry Berstein, Middle School Judaic Studies)
  • Boulder Journey School Conference (A School for Innovative Teacher Education--focusing on our early childhood Reggio Emilia approach to learning) (Jill Kushnir LeVee, Assistant Head of School and Susie Lorge, Kindergarten Teacher)
  • Wilson Language Training-Foundations Workshop (Jessica Glick, Grade 2)
  • International Music Education Summit and Vandercook MECA music programs (Rachel Jaffe, Music Specialist)
  • Facing History and Ourselves: Holocaust and Human Behavior (Jennifer Saba, Middle School Humanities)

In addition, two members of our faculty were invited to teach in two different outstanding summer programs:

  • Alex Treyger (Director of Digital Learning and Technology and Middle School Science Teacher) was asked to lead Centropa in Berlin, Germany. It's a nonprofit that brings educators from Jewish schools from all over the world, providing community, development and support)
  • Lauren Israel (Kindergarten Teacher) was a Grade 3 Instructor at the Northwestern Center for Talent Development
