Parent engagement is the heartbeat of our vibrant community. The Parent Committee fosters connections through events, volunteer opportunities, and initiatives that support new families and strengthen bonds. The Chesed Committee embodies the Jewish value of chesed (loving-kindness) by offering support in both joyful and challenging times.
Whether volunteering, attending an event, or simply building connections with other families, there are countless ways to become involved and help strengthen the Chicago Jewish Day School community.
Faculty & Staff Appreciation
The Parent Committee is dedicated to showing appreciation for our faculty and staff throughout the year through thoughtful gestures, including surprise “just because” coffee treats, Faculty & Staff Appreciation Week, bi-yearly gifts, and other special expressions of gratitude.
Holiday Celebrations
Holiday celebrations bring our community together throughout the year. From Hanukkah parties to Sukkah Hops, these events strengthen connections and create lasting memories for families, thanks to the dedication of our Parent Committee.

Fundraising
Fundraising initiatives throughout the year help strengthen the CJDS community while supporting the school's mission. From the Rosh Hashanah honey fundraiser and challah sales to Mishloach Manot (Purim baskets) and the Parent Campaign, these traditions bring families together in support of CJDS. Our goal of 100% family participation reflects the belief that every gift makes a meaningful difference.
Parent Events
