Thank you for your interest in Chicago Jewish Day School! We are thrilled to welcome our students and families to the 2024-2025 academic year. Watching our students engage joyfully in learning and collaborate with their peers and teachers is incredible and something I can’t wait for you to see.  

At Chicago Jewish Day School, you will discover a diverse, caring community of students eagerly engaged in learning with their peers in an inspiring Jewish environment. Using a Jewish lens, we educate the whole child by integrating subject matter, providing an experiential educational model, and focusing on the social-emotional development of children as a way to enhance higher academic achievement. As a result, we see children who build a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.  

Our nationally recognized educators have created a unique curriculum that thoughtfully and organically integrate General and Judaic Studies using an active, experiential, and collaborative approach. From Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, students dive into deep, relevant, and multidisciplinary learning that sparks their curiosity and excitement. Our students don't just learn content. They learn how to learn, who they are as learners, and how to think critically and deeply. 

As has been made abundantly clear since October 7th, our sacred role is to create the next generation of informed and thoughtful leaders in our community. Our graduates will be leaders who support, care about, and further the causes that impact our community and the world. Our graduates will wade in the nuance and promote dialogue among diverse voices, will reach out to and help others, will build our Jewish communities, and will have a meaningful and lasting connection to Israel. Preparing them for the world that awaits them begins in Junior Kindergarten and continues throughout their journey at Chicago Jewish Day School.
