Yes, You Can Afford Chicago Jewish Day School

CJDS will assess each family's financial situation, including income and the number of children, to create a suitable tuition plan. The tuition assistance process is confidential and respects applicants' privacy.

The Tuition Assistance Committee uses FACTS for the online application, which must be completed in full and include all required documents. The application deadline for the 2026-2027 school year is December 31, 2026, and the W-2 form must be submitted by February 5, 2026. The Tuition Accessibility Partnership (TAP) Fund is an alternative tuition model for families interested in enrolling their children in Jewish day schools in Chicago. The TAP Fund caps tuition at 12% of a family’s annual adjusted gross income (AGI).

TAP was created for families with an AGI between $200,000 and $350,000 per year. Families who fall within this range receive a capped tuition total, regardless of how many children they have enrolled in Jewish day schools.

Chicago Jewish Day School is a proud participant in the JUF Right Start program, which was created to increase awareness and access to Jewish early childhood programs for Chicago-area families. JUF Right Start provides a financial voucher for families enrolling their children during the academic year in a Jewish infant, toddler or preschool program for the first time.

JUF Right Start is a gift to families from the Jewish United Fund thanks to the generosity of the Harvey L. Miller Supporting Foundation, The Crown Family, The Shraiberg Family in Memory of Miriam Shraiberg, Steven B. Nasatir New Directions Fund and other local donors.

The Bernard Heerey Family Foundation Scholarship Program was established to meet the needs of middle-income families with multiple children in day school, including at least one child in middle school. We are grateful to the Bernard Heerey Family Foundation for providing generous tuition assistance to eligible CJDS families.
