The application process allows us to get to know your child and your family through your eyes. A FACTS account is necessary to register for admissions events, schedule an interview, and complete our application. 

We are committed to working with families so that children can take advantage of a Chicago Jewish Day School education. With Tuition Assistance, all students will have the chance to learn with us. Applicants applying for tuition assistance should submit their applications through FACTS by December 31st.

For Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten applicants, we assess readiness by observing children in their current school setting, where we can see how they learn, interact with others, and transition throughout the day.

Applicants to Grades One to Eight participate in a two-day classroom visit at CJDS, giving us the opportunity to get to know them while they experience life as a CJDS student.

At Chicago Jewish Day School, we view parents as partners in the sacred work of educating your child and prioritize open, ongoing communication.

A key part of this partnership is the opportunity to meet our senior leadership. Our Head of School and Assistant Head of School are actively involved in student learning and development. Held in January or February, this virtual meeting allows families and school leaders to connect, share perspectives, and build relationships.

Admissions decisions, along with tuition assistance grants, are mailed to families at the end of February. Families who are offered an enrollment contract are asked to return a signed contract with a deposit to secure their child’s space in the class.

Upon enrollment in Junior Kindergarten or Kindergarten, families are invited to our annual Layla Tov event on May 6th at 6:30 p.m., which serves as your child’s first introduction to Chicago Jewish Day School. This special evening offers a chance to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and connect with other CJDS families. Invitations are extended to all enrolled families.
