Holiday celebrations and milestone ceremonies create joyful opportunities for students and families to celebrate their Jewish identities. Traditions from the Grade 1 Siddur Ceremony to the Grade 8 Daglanut Ceremony mark important moments in each student's journey.

A Lifelong Connection to Israel

Our students develop a deep love for Israel through Hebrew, Israeli culture, and relationships with shinshinim. They graduate with a lasting connection to Israel and the confidence to engage thoughtfully with diverse communities.

Tikkun Olam

Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) is a cornerstone of a CJDS education. Students are guided by Jewish values and participate in meaningful service-learning experiences that encourage them to give tzedakah, raise awareness, and take action to positively impact their communities and the world.

A meaningful connection to Israel is central to the CJDS experience. Beginning in Junior Kindergarten, students engage with Israel through immersive and developmentally appropriate experiences that introduce them to the country's geography, culture, history, and diversity of its people. As students grow, that connection deepens through Hebrew language instruction, Jewish studies, current events, cultural exploration, and critical analysis of the complexities facing Israel. The journey culminates in the annual Grade 8 trip to Israel, a transformative experience that allows students to experience firsthand the places, history, and people they have studied throughout their years at CJDS. Together, these experiences help students develop a lasting connection to Israel and understand its central role in Jewish life and peoplehood.
