Social-Emotional Learning Through Collaborative Play

Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten students participated in a collaborative marker and string activity this week, led by an outside consultant who works weekly with the classes on social-emotional learning. Working in small groups of three to four, each student held a piece of string connected to a shared marker. They coordinated their movements to create various designs, encouraging teamwork, communication, and strategic planning. In Kindergarten, Beardy observed the activity, appearing happy to have his friends back by his side after missing them over Passover break!
