Grade 1 students were joined by CJDS Parent Rabbi David Minkus (Adira) for the tradition of Bedikat Chametz (the search for chametz/leavened bread). They learned about the importance of the holiday of Passover and why we start the holiday by looking for chametz . They discussed how to search for chametz and the tools that are needed. Students were then able to search their classrooms with small electronic candles. While some of the pieces of chametz were easy to find, they had to work all together to find the last few pieces!
