Rosh Hashanah Provocations, Shofar Blowing, Beekeeper Visit & More!

There is no shortage of Rosh Hashanah-related learning around campus. The holiday season provides all sorts of opportunities for students to learn about the  significance of Rosh Hashanah and make their own observations and creations. Many brought their shofarot from home to ensure that our hallways and Beit Midrash are full of their signature sound this time of the year.

On Monday, students in JK through Grade 2 enjoyed a visit from a local bee keeper and learned about the amazing role bees play in nature and how honey is made. JK students tasted different honey, explored a pomegranate, and made their own shofar-shaped challot. Kindergarten students tasted a variety of apples and graphed their favorites, baked an apple cake, made honey jars, Rosh Hashanah cards, and so much more.

Grade 1 students flexed their baking muscles on Friday and made mini apple pies. We thank them for the sweet cinnamon aroma that filled our halls throughout the morning!
