On Tuesday morning, students from JK through Grade 3 participated in a special oil demonstration led by Rabbi Schneur Scheiman. They carefully examined fresh olives, pressing them to observe the juice, pulp, and oil as they emerged. Afterwards, they helped transfer the liquid into test tubes, which were spun in a centrifuge to separate the pulp, juice, and oil. The rabbi then poured the oil into the Hanukkiyah. Students also twisted cotton into wicks and sang the brachot (prayers), while the rabbi lit the Hanukkiyah. Throughout the activity, they enjoyed dancing and singing Hanukkah songs!
