Hot off the Press! Grades 4, 5 & 6 Journalists Create Passover-Themed Newspapers
  • Judaic Studies
  • Lower School

Over the past few weeks, in chevruta study, Grade 4 students have closely examined the signs/wonders (usually called plagues in our Haggadot) of the Pesach story. Students discussed how G-d's signs will help the children of Israel trust G-d and will show Pharaoh that G-d is mightier than him. Students also noticed that as the signs became more serious, they made the Egyptian people's lives more similar to the Jewish people's experience in slavery. The study culminated with students working in partnership to write a newspaper article about something they learned together. This special edition newspaper, The Times of Egypt, tells the Pesach story and even has puzzle games for readers to enjoy!

Grades 5 and 6 also became newspaper reporters in the lead-up to Pesach. They researched, learned, and wrote newspaper articles on the Exodus story. Many of them will come home with hard copies for your seder tables this year, and You can expect to hear some facts you may not have known about!
