Middle School's “Eurovision Week” continued this year in Nitsan Heimer's and Penina Berdugo's Grades 6 and 7 Hebrew classes. Throughout the week, students participated in a special learning experience centered around the Eurovision Song Contest. They explored the contest's history and discussed its musical and political significance as an international competition. The students also learned about Israel’s participation in Eurovision over the years. They examined questions like whether a country’s song should be performed in its national language and analyzed the themes and messages conveyed in Israeli Eurovision songs throughout history.

To conclude Eurovision Week, students hosted a festive watch party that combined culture, language, and community. They prepared a traditional Israeli breakfast featuring Israeli salad, lemonade, and cheese bourekas. During the party, students ranked their favorite Israeli Eurovision songs from different years, stepping into the role of Eurovision judges while connecting their classroom learning to a fun, interactive activity.
