CJDS Math Students Learn To Embrace the Struggle

The fun in learning mathematics is in the challenge. At CJDS, students in all grades get up on their feet or down on the floor to collaborate and think through challenging problems. The result is a classroom of active learners that thrives from inquiring and discovering together. Read more in this article about why struggling to learn a new skill while making mistakes along the way is something to celebrate, especially in the classroom.

An alumni parent recently updated us about her son's experience in high school this fall and said the following: "We just had parent/teacher conferences and it was great to hear from his math teachers specifically. The teachers talked about how he never gives up, even if he hasn't learned the material, he has the resources to figure it out on his own. That's exactly what CJDS taught him! We're really able to see how the things he learned at CJDS have supported him to excel as he grows. We can't thank you and CJDS enough for that amazing base these kids have! Thank you!"
