On Tuesday, Grades 3 and 4 visited Park Plaza, a senior living facility, to sing songs, interact with residents, and brighten their day. The trip provided students with a tangible example of how impactful their acts of Chesed can be. Their show of gratitude, empathy, and community involvement was especially timely this week before Thanksgiving.
Before the trip, students and teachers discussed the importance of Hodaya (Thanksgiving) and giving back to the community. Students were organized into small groups and were assigned various tasks for the field trip, such as making Thanksgiving cards, preparing songs to sing, or choosing games to play. Once at Park Plaza, residents were treated to a performance of beautiful singing by our students. Students enjoyed speaking to residents and presenting them with the cards they made.
