What’s that smell? Grade 6 science students concluded their unit about scent in relation to condensation and evaporation. Building upon their existing knowledge, Science Teacher Maya Cohen gave students the opportunity to design and conduct experiments showcasing these concepts. One group investigated the rate of evaporation between sugar and salt added to boiling water. Another group examined the influence of sugar on the evaporation rate of various substances, including Gatorade and hot chocolate. Students demonstrated creativity in their experimental approaches and were excited to see (and smell!) the results of their experiments.
