JK students began showing an interest in maps when a few of them began creating "treasure maps" in order to find treasure. This prompted conversations about what a map is and the students concluded that a map is a way to see the path from one place to the other. This week, they began by wanting to create a map of the playground at recess and are now planning on mapping the whole school!
