Beginning Anew With Tashlich Tradition

Once again this year, the proximity of the Chicago River provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to perform the ritual of tashlich. After sharing thoughts about the significance of symbolically casting away our sins and how they can begin the year anew, students discarded their past mistakes they had written on dissolvable paper. Each group concluded by singing "Avinu Malkeinu" and hearing the blowing of the shofar.
