Dana Solomon was born in Bucharest, Romania. She made Aliyah to Israel with her family when she was 15 years old and settled in the Galilee.  In 1986 she graduated from high school (majored in biology) and was drafted for 2 years to the Israeli Army. In the IDF she become a first-sergeant in a training camp of female soldiers.  In 1992, she received her B.A in Social Studies from the University of Bar-Ilan and her X-ray technician Diploma from the Rambam Medical School, Haifa.  She then worked for a private medical company, where she headed the mammography facility for until she moved with her family to Evanston in 2000.  For the past 9 years Dana was a pre-school teacher at the nursery school of Beth Emet in Evanston as well as a Judaica and Hebrew teacher at Beit-Sefer.  During her tenure at Beth Emet Dana completed in 2003 a two-year program in Jewish early childhood education and Integration methodology from the Jewish Early Childhood Institute for Excellence (JECIE). In addition she has taken several courses in early childhood education at Oakton Community College.  She currently devotes all her time to early childhood education and Hebrew tutoring which she thoroughly enjoys.
