Cortney received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992 from Wellesley College, graduating Summa Cum Laude with honors in Philosophy and Spanish. Immediately after graduation, she began working for McMaster-Carr Supply Company where she enjoyed an 11 year career as part of the management team. While employed at McMaster-Carr, Cortney received her MBA with a focus in Organizational Behavior and Decision Sciences from Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University in 2000. After the birth of her third child, Cortney decided to leave the business world and became a stay at home mom, allowing her to focus more energy into her volunteer life. In 2008, she completed the Wexner Heritage Program. CJDS has long been her passion and she has put in many hours on the lay leadership side as the Recruitment Committee Chair. Cortney is very excited to make the transition to the professional side after so many years working with Admissions. She and her husband, Jonathan, have lived in Lakeview for the last 16 years and have four children, three of whom are currently students at CJDS!
