Rachel Treister
Art Specialist
Rachel Treister earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Jewish Studies from Indiana University and a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Development from the Erikson Institute. She also studied for one year at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Prior to teaching art, she taught kindergarten, first and second grade at the University of Chicago Laboratory School. She is a former board member of Shalva, a past co-chair of the CJDS Parent Committee and a graduate of the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School. Rachel has a passion for making and being around art. When she is not making jewelry or knitting with her sister, she can be found at home in Lakeview with her husband Jeremy and their three children, Solomon, Beatrix and Eloise, all of whom attend CJDS.
